God Like Qualities

I really enjoyed  conference today.  We are usually running from soccer game to soccer game on Saturday mornings, but while we were in Provo, UT for the BYU vs. USU football game (GO Aggies!!!  We didn’t win, but fought valiantly!) one of our kiddos let my sister in law know she had a stomach bug all over her stairs.  My sweet Mom threw the kids in bed, we didn’t get home until 12 AM.  But right when I was heading to bed another sweet kiddo lost it in the hall and yakked all night long. ICK!  Needless to say.  I have been home all day listening to conference.  It was a nice change from the hustle and bustle we usually do.  We had gourmet Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup for dinner, while the hubs is at Priesthood meeting.  I had a bowl of cereal and made this month’s visiting teaching quote.  I feel on a role, maybe I’ll get more done this weekend, maybe !  Click on the image to download (.jpeg, .png, and .psp).

Visiting Teaching- Be Creative!

Ahh, it's word-art time again! I remember a talk by someone in the General Relief Society Presidency talking about the creativity of her visiting teachers. She was very busy, traveling, and working with the church. Her visiting teachers wanted to serve her and she was willing. So, her visiting teachers would pick-up and take her dry cleaning, which she was always forgetting to do. Has anyone heard this story before? I would love to put a name to the story!

VT Thought

I've been thinking a little about how it is easy to serve, but sometimes difficult to let or help others serve you. Here is my VT thought for this month. Hopefully I will be more on the ball this coming month. The poor RS newsletter lady had to e-mail me a reminder- on Saturday!

VT quote- funny!

I sorry I haven't posted a quote in a while!!! My January was INSANE! We had VT interviews with all the sisters in the ward. I had sign-ups, reminders, treats, and info updating for that. After interviews we do changes and that is well, not fun.

A lot of my stress was self induced stress. Do you ever do that to yourself? I had my heart set on the cute soul savers, but I COULD NOT find yummy Lifesavers anywhere! No wild cherry, no 5 colors, no yummy butter rum! I also thought I would find some knock-offs just at the dollar store- no luck! I did find mint Lifesavers, but they are much smaller than the sweet version and were more than I wanted to spend! By all miracles of miracles I found some Lifesavers sweet books on clearance at my local grocery store! They worked beautifully! But see- self induced stress! Lesson- find the treat BEFORE you make the printable!

I also was called to be an Activity day leader for the 8 year olds in our ward. My oldest is 8 and soooo excited and I have a very cool partner. I was also called to be the RS secretary, yup- still visiting teaching coordinator too. Somewhat crazy- but I sure it will all work out!!

My January did end on a high note... I went on my first cruise!! We did a short 3 day cruise over Superbowl weekend. Ahhh- I felt like a cute girl and not just a tired mommy!

Anyway, when I saw this quote it fit the bill!!

Visiting Teaching Interviews and word art

In January our ward has visiting teaching interviews. The Relief Society President has me put the following questions on a 4x6 card with each sister's companionship and who visits them on it.
What questions do you ask?
What are some things you have success with during visiting teaching interviews?

Here is my word art for January. It's just a quick one! The holidays were so fun, but our whole house had the flu the week after Christmas. WOW, I'm glad DH had work off! I will ALWAYS get a flu shot from now on!
